What is The Epicurean Oasis? The Epicurean Oasis is a consciously minded "pop up" boutique farmers market stand featuring farm fresh products and local artisans under the same roof. Our booths are featured in various Certified Farmers Markets throughout LA. Our Oasis booths are built upon the principles of Mutual Aid, Co-operation and Organized Effort. All our members share in the duties and responsibilities of maintaining the booth and split the overhead costs as well. This frees up time and much needed resources that can be used for other projects or just achieving balance within our lives.

For example: The Oasis has a farm delivery system that picks up farm products from multiple farm producers at the same time, rather than each of those producers having to send their own delivery person. It is our goal to have every aspect of our business demonstrate the power of people working together to achieve balance and sustainability.

In order to achieve our goal of maximum sustainability, our members are looking to secure a Health Department approved kitchen that we can utilize to prepare our food for the farmers markets together. This would also allow us to develop the kitchen aspect of our collective business model with a focus on streamlining everyone's production time and expenses. Currently, each of our members prepare their food in separate kitchens throughout Los Angeles. Having one dedicated space that we would use would afford us the opportunity to lower our overhead and really focus on collaboration and creating a sustainable product line for our customers at a reasonable price.

Additionally, 5-10% of all the sales made at our Epicurean Oasis booths is put into a transparent community account called The Creative Collective Alliance. The Alliance is accountable to the groups it serves to fund future projects and build infrastructure.

The goal of The Epicurean Oasis is to design a consciously minded model for food production and distribution based on cooperation, mutual aid and organized effort. Once we have created this structure we can open more booths, farmers markets and brick and mortar locations throughout LA. On this scale we could begin using a portion of the 10% fee to pay for other community based projects that can begin to pick up where the current structure is falling short. Thus, we bring about balance simply by feeding the people of Los Angeles healthy and delicious food and reinvesting 10% of the profits back into the communities who are buying the food.
